UBC MIM Introduction
A business degree for non-business graduates
Developed to address the evolving needs of today’s most innovative employers, the UBC Master of Management (MM) curriculum provides you with a vital grounding in a broad spectrum of business and management disciplines, from accounting to finance and marketing to strategic management. Combined with the career development throughout the program, you will graduate with the competitive edge you need when applying for your dream job.
The 9-month, full-time UBC MM offered by UBC Sauder’s Robert H. Lee Graduate School runs annually from August to the end of May
WHO IS IT FOR?
Professional development is built into the very core of the UBC MM program. Once accepted into the program, the Business Career Centre – and your personal career coach – will take a customized approach to your career progression, offering a structured, yet flexible program, that will help you clarify and achieve your goals.
The career centre also actively promotes MM graduates to the business community, locally nationally, and internationally.

Option 1 CEMS Master in International Management
CEMS is the world’s foremost global alliance of business schools, multinationals and NGOs. Esade is the only founding member in Spain. The CEMS MIM gives students the cross-border exposure, the global understanding, the hands-on experience and the network to launch an exceptional international career. The CEMS MIM is open to graduates of all Esade MSc in Management programmes except the MSc in Global Strategic Management. 52% of CEMS MIM graduates find work outside their country of residence.
This rigorous and intense one-year programme begins after you complete your Esade MSc. It comprises two terms of cultural, linguistic and academic immersion at Esade and one other CEMS partner school, followed by a 8-week international internship with a leading company.
Option 2 External double degree: ESADE + Partner University
Complement your Esade MSc in Management with a second degree from one of ESADE seven world-class partner schools. Spend an additional 12 months abroad then graduate with two qualifications from two top business schools, plus full access to the support networks and alumni communities of both.

Option 3 Internal double degree: Two ESADE MSc degrees
Any combination of the MSc in Business Analytics, MSc in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, MSc in International Management or MSc in Marketing Management can be completed more quickly thanks to overlapping subjects between programmes. Students graduate with a double degree that instantly distinguishes you in the job market.
The project is a highlight of the MSc programme. It challenges you to apply what you’ve learned in class to a real organizational situation. The project exposes you to the complexities of real-life business. It broadens your understanding and empowers you to develop new team-building, analytical-thinking, and project management skills.

The following external organizations offer or administer a variety of scholarships for both domestic and international students. Please note that these scholarships are not administered by the Robert H. Lee Graduate School, the UBC Sauder School of Business or UBC, unless explicitly stated.

Aga Khan Foundation – International Scholarship Programme The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from select developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies, in order to develop effective scholars and leaders and to prepare them for employment, primarily within the AKDN. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant : 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July. |
CAEL Scholarships CAEL has two scholarships for international students: $5,000 each, one to a student currently studying in Canada, and one to a student currently studying overseas. For more information on how to apply, please visit cael.ca/scholarships. |
Kathryn Huget Leadership Award Awarded to a Master’s or PhD student, with preference given to female students currently in leadership roles, whose focus is to improve the business workplace for women. Preference given to the applicants studying in the areas of: organizational behaviour, business administration, business and commerce, sociology, or psychology. |
Loans Programs
The following institutions have offered to provide financing and assistance to eligible candidates enrolled in the MM program. Loans or Lines of Credit may provide students with the financial assistance to help with tuition, books, personal living expenses, as well as everyday banking needs. Prodigy Finance: Prodigy provides postgraduate student loans and refinancing for studying abroad to international students from over 150 nationalities. |
Banco de Credito Peru: Thanks to a new student loan program, Peruvians can borrow the full costs of tuition and living expenses towards MBA degrees in Canada. |

Lifelong Learning Plan The Lifelong Learning Plan is a Government of Canada initiative that allows individuals to use RRSP savings towards the cost of their education. Information on this program is available from Canada Customs & Revenue Agency. |
Teaching Assistants/Research Assistants UBC MM students do not assume the roles of Teaching or Research Assistants. These roles are usually occupied by MSc and PhD students in the Sauder School of Business. |
Part-Time Work Opportunities UBC MM students are not encouraged to work part-time during the program owing to the large time commitment required for classes, group work and individual study. |
